Elizabeth Gait joins our
office as a classical Hatha Yoga instructor after studying extensively in
Mumbai, India for two years at the renowned Yoga Institute in Santacruz,
the world’s oldest organized Yoga Center founded in 1918, where she
received her teaching certification.
Elizabeth grew up locally
here in Farmington and after living away for 18 years in various locales,
finds herself coming full circle and back home once again.
During her two-year stay
in India, Elizabeth discovered the science of Yoga in the land of its
origin and there she quickly realized her calling as a sincere
practitioner of Yoga which led naturally to the role of instructor, all
this after spending 17 years as a business professional in the insurance
and more recently reinsurance industry. Since this transformative
experience, she has never looked back and indeed, continues to looks
forward enthusiastically to her new-found career in Yoga.
Having worked as a
business professional in the insurance industry for many years, Elizabeth
well understands the many stress factors which plague our modern culture
which is unquestionably the primary causes of distress and disease today.
More importantly, she appreciates from personal experience, the manifold
health benefits which Yoga has to offer and is optimistic that the science
of Yoga can help to arrest and even reverse the damage caused by our
modern “hurry and worry” lifestyle. Elizabeth describes her duty as a Yoga
instructor to keep her students fully engaged and interested in the
process of learning about the vast science of Yoga
Elizabeth’s classical
training remains true to the original deliberate and precise spirit of
Patanjali’s Hatha Yoga and in addition to helping those with specific
diseases and health problems such as joint disorders, diabetes, high blood
pressure and heart disease, and asthma, she specializes in holistic
wellness and lifestyle management for the mind-body complex including:
relaxation/ stress management, concentration and memory, breath
regulation, positive attitude and meditation methods. We welcome you to
