Injury Prevention
We at FVPT believe that running and other sports injuries can be prevented by selecting the correct running shoe for your style, warming up and cooling down, stretching and strengthening, listening to your body, and probably most importantly for the athlete, a gradual and progressive training program. Sports massage, physical therapy, and nutrition can also play a part. Consultations and Coaching are available. Click here for the Running Program pricing schedule.

Running Coaching
Incorrect training can lead to muscle imbalances and overuse injuries. Our FVPT coaches can design custom running training plans including dynamic stretching, running drills, and teach you the training theory and exercise physiology. Contact Aaron Groen to schedule an appointment. Click here for more information about Running Coaching Services.

Runner Prehabilitation
This is a specialized injury prevention evaluation for runners performed by our founder, Boguslawa Badon, RPT who is both physical therapist and a USATF Certified Running Coach. During this evaluation, Ms. Badon will check the major and minor muscle systems of your body for signs of subclinical, developing pathologies such as plantar faciitis, imbalanced hamstring/quads, hip/pelvic misalignment, over pronation/supination of the feet, etc. Includes an additional 1/2 hr IR Sauna Session.

Gait/Running Evaluation
Individual/Group Tight Muscle Release
Formulation of a individualized prescription consisting of injury prevention exercises which included  range of motion exercises, movements (not stretches) to relax tight muscles, joint mobilization exercises, posture/pelvic alignment correcting movements, and more.

1 hr Prehabilitaton Session  + 1/2 IR Sauna Session - $100

Flexibility and Balance - Yoga Crosstraining
Flexibility and Balance should be part of every runner's injury prevention program. Loose muscles and joints can contribute to better and more efficient range of motion and movement (performance) as well as decreased overuse injuries due to poor form. FVPT has weekly Yoga for Runners yoga classes designed by Yoga instructors, physical therapists, and running coaches to address the specific needs of the runner including:
  • Shoulders and Back for improved posture and running form
  • Backward bending moves to release tension on the lower back (prevents discomfort than can develop from the repeated pounding of running)
  • Hip Openers/Strengthening to correct pronation/supination of the foot
  • Quadriceps strengthening to correct the common hamstring/quad imbalances that can predispose runners to ACL injuries
  • Hamstring lengthening
  • Breathing and Balance exercises
