Maximizing Performance

Sports medicine or sport medicine is an interdisciplinary subspecialty of medicine which deals with the treatment and preventative care of athletes, both amateur and professional.

Injury Prevention

Most athletes want to lower their chances of getting injured. Injuries decrease the amount of time you can spend doing what you love, lower your fitness, downgrade competitive performance, and can lead to long term health problems such as arthritis. FVPT can show you how to curb the risk factors associated with injuries such as muscle imbalances, weak muscles, and stiffness.

Injury Recovery

However, once you have become injured, FVPT can help you rehabilitate yourself and regain your active lifestyle. We use a combination of cutting edge technology such as laser therapy and anodyne therapy and time tested traditional physical therapy modalities to treat our patients. After recovery, we will teach you how to avoid the bad habits the contributed to your injury. See our Running program for more information

Light (LASER) Therapy

Light therapy is used by athletes all over the world to promote healing after intense workouts and for more serious injuries or chronic pain from overtraining. R.J Anderson, editor of Training & Conditioning magazing has written an article highlighting the use of light therapy for high profile athletes like Lance Armstrong and Tiger Woods. Click here to read the article. LASER therapy is also used to treat acute injuries as in the case of Terrel Owens of the Dallas Cowboys.
