Beginner Classical Yoga- No Experience Necessary
Find focus on both strengthening and stretching the muscular system. Promote proper alignment, reduce stress, and find focus and balance in both body and soul. Beginner concepts of pranayama (breathwork) are also introduced to calm the mind. We will look at how to assume a Yoga posture safely with the use of breath. This class is suitable for everyone but particularly geared towards the complete beginner who may have thought about trying Yoga before but wasn’t quite sure. This class is open to anyone looking for a slower paced class and an emphasis on form, technique as well as slow and gentle healing. This session will focus on relaxing the mind and body, to bring about a feeling of well-being.

Mixed Level Classical Yoga
This class is designed for Beginners and Intermediates to work side by side practicing solid fundamentals and the classic yoga asanas. You'll begin to gain a deeper awareness of your body and develop higher levels of focus, strength, flexibility and endurance. You’ll be introduced to inversions and more complex postures, as well as hold postures for longer periods. You’ll continue to develop an understanding and appreciation of the integration of asana, pranayama breathing, and meditation. Modifications will be introduced for complex poses so that beginners can work comfortably at their own level.

Afternoon Yoga and Posture - Students Encouraged to Join
Explore back restoring postures, expand the ribcage, fight carpal tunnel syndrome, and open your shoulders. Modern life is full of tasks that can result in slouching and increased forward flexion of the major posture muscles of the torso, hips, and shoulders. This class will include asanas that strengthen the major back muscles, increase awareness of the way we carry our body and the way that our breath is affected by body position. Use of props may be included as well as an introduction to back bending. Local Middle and High School Students are encouraged to participate at a low student rate of $10.00.

Candlelight Yoga
Step into a candlelit room and let go of the stress of the day with this physically challenging and spiritually energizing style of yoga. Linking the presence of mind with moments will build the skills need to perform  inversions, backward bending poses, and finally release into restorative postures and shavasana.

Yoga for Runners Specialty Class
Cross-training is the use of another sport or activity to enhance training in one's primary sport, running in this case. Cross-training builds your "non-running" muscles, rests your "running" muscles while maintaining (or gaining) cardiovascular fitness or other relevant physical characteristic, and provides balance to your muscle groups. Help improve your flexibility, breath control, and focus by incorporating yoga into your training plan.

Pranayama Breathing
Pranayama is a sanskrit word that means control (yama) of the life force (prana). It is also commonly used to describe various yogic breathing exercises that help give the practitioner control of the life force, or pranayama. It was originally expounded by Patanjali, an ancient Hindu philosopher and yogi, in his Yoga Sutras, a text on yoga philosophy and practices. This class is appropriate for all levels
