Avoid slips and falls on the Ice....Walk like a Penguin

Some tips to keep you safe this winter! Slips and falls are the second-leading cause of unintentional deaths, according to the National Safety Council. And with the latest snow and ice storm affecting as many as 29 million people for the next several days, it's time to be extra careful.

Here are tips for walking safely in the winter weather from the University of Utah and Iowa State University: 

Give yourself plenty of time to get to your destination to avoid carelessness.
Turn your feet out and talk small steps.
Keep your center of gravity over your feet.
Wear shoes and boots with good traction.
Walk at a slower pace.
Stay on designated walkways.
Wear gloves to keep your hands warm and out of your pockets.
Use the handrail when using stairs and entering and exiting buildings.

New FVPT Website Launched!

We are very excited to announce the launch of our newly designed website. Visit us at our new web address www.fvpt.com. The site’s homepage features a simple and an uncluttered design and concise navigation. We wanted to make the new website faster, easier to navigate, and more user-friendly.

As a center for rehabilitation and wellness, it’s important for us to make information regarding our clinic, services and facilities easily accessible for our current and prospective patients and clients. We endeavor to provide our patients with the most accurate, up-to-date information and share our knowledge and expertise in the rehabilitation. 

We also wanted to give our patients, community, and also providers an opportunity to know us better, who we are as a company, and what makes us stand out amongst rehabilitation providers in the area. By browsing through our About and Services sections, you’ll get a pretty good idea of who we are, what we do, and what others including the media are saying about us.

One of the most noticeable changes on our new site are detailed descriptions of our services including pictures and videos of what we do. We have also added section of our website forPhysicians and Providers which include citations to relevant articles that support our approach to physical therapy and rehab. Educating our patients is always our first priority and we plan for it to stay that way.

You’ll find our new site is divided into four main sections: AboutServicesNews, and Schedule an Appointment.  The entire website is accessible through one navigation menu so that prospective patients and providers looking to learn about our clinic can easily located the information they need. The About section includes logistical information about our clinic including hours and location, information about our team, as well as access points for Provider-Only and Employee-Only resources.

Under the the Services tab, you will find detailed descriptions of the many rehabilitation techniques, methods, and modalities we offer at FVPT. Our Services range from traditional, evidenced-based, tried and true Physical Rehabilitation strategies and protocols, as well as newer and more progressive exercise methods designed to add variety, challenge, and fun to physical therapy. 

The News section is where you will find our blog, a compilation of media articles where FVPT is featured, as well as Videos demonstrating some of the exercise methods that we use in our clinic. This section is updated on a regular basis so be sure to check back soon!

Last but not least, we provide information and resources that you can utilize if you are interested in visiting our clinic and becoming a patient. Under the Schedule An Appointment tab, you'll find information about the insurance plans we participate in as well ways to contact us to schedule an appointment. Registration Forms are available for download if you prefer to fill these out ahead of time in the comfort of your own home. You can also access our group exercise schedule and book group exercise and rehabilitation classes.

Our FVPT team has worked hard to put together this website, rich in information, to be used as a resource. We pride ourselves on being an innovated rehabilitation provider and look forward to hearing any feedback from you.
